Implementing SEQF
From 26 to 29 May, in Oslo, ASEE concluded an insightful three-day training on implementing the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF). The room brought together representatives from national umbrella organisations across eight European countries, pooling an impressive 380 years and 3 months of collective experience in the field.
The focus was sharp: exchanging ideas on how to make quality truly measurable in our services. This gathering served as a vital opportunity for ASEE to listen closely to members’ needs and refine our approach.

Participants gather in Oslo for hands-on training on implementing SEQF. Learning, sharing, and building capacity together.
Why the SEQF matters:
- For individuals: ensures better, more consistent support.
- For practitioners: provides clearer standards to guide daily work.
- For employers: builds confidence in inclusive hiring processes.
- For the sector: transforms quality assessment into a supportive commitment, backed by a “critical friend”.
- For advocates: highlights the importance of navigating regional specificities on the path to recognition.
Ultimately, this initiative is about more than just metrics; it is about anchoring our work in value, principles, dignity, and opportunity for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups in the open labour market. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make a European-quality label for Supported Employment a reality. While this training was a milestone, our work on the SEQF is just beginning!
